“As the Senior Director of Human Resources for the Connectivity Group, Philips Electronics, I wanted to provide a reference letter for Unisource in regards to the recruiting project at Philips Components in Sunnyvale, CA and take this time to thank Unisource for helping us to accomplish our goals. To date Unisource has a credited 13 hires that were all high-tech engineering related. Philips started a new wireless connectivity division and chose Unisource as one of our retained executive search firms. The total increase in base salary calculated on all Unisource hires on the Sunnyvale project was $1,525,000.00, We are happy to report to date the total recruiting cost to Philips was $247,350.00, allowing a savings of anywhere from $133,900.00 to $282,150.00 when comparing the costs of using executive search firms that typically charge a 25% – 30% fee of base annual salary. Out of the $247,350.00 total recruiting cost paid to Unisource, $72,000.00 went towards having an onsite Unisource Project Manager at Philips for a nine-month period. The Project Manager was full-time on staff and helped to coordinate and expedite interviews and assisted the Philips Human Resource and Line Manager staff in any way possible. Percentage wise, Unisource was at an overall cost per hire percentage of 16.2% of annual salary. When excluding the onsite Project Manager cost, cost per hire was brought down to an overall figure of 11.5% of annual base salary. Unfortunately due to economic trends, we had to freeze some contracted job openings or this cost per hire would have even been lower then 10%.
